Owners, directors, managers and staff will have the assurance that an IBA registered
business adviser is an independently accredited professional; who adheres to the
IBA Code of Conduct; who has relevant business experience and training; and who
has met the professional criteria as defined by IBA.

Members of the IBA are bound by a Code of Conduct that aims to enforce the ethical
behaviour of its members. Members in breach of this Code of Conduct are subject
to disciplinary measures.

All IBA members are encouraged to keep up to date with new developments in business
management and support through a programme of continuing professional development
and by keeping up with all relevant legislation that affects the SME environment.
All members are also required to demonstrate that they have
undertaken sufficient study, training and personal development to meet the Institute's
requirements.

Applications are welcomed from anyone involved in giving small business advice or
supporting those giving advice.
The Application process is clear-cut and requires the completion of an Application
Form.

Members who wish to be regraded, should follow this procedure: Download the form here and to complete it as fully
as possible. There is a regrading fee of R300 to be paid for this service - before
resubmitting your form please mark it clearly as an application to be regraded.
After depositing the necessary fee into the IBA account and submitting proof of
your payment to the IBA either by Fax (086 632 5418) or email (info@ibasa.org.za),
your details will be forwarded to the Membership Secretary for regrading. Regrading
does not necessarily result in obtaining a higher grade but is based entirely on
